SUPERMODELS BASHED BY “RAMADAN POLICE”

It is sad that during the holy month of Ramadan, instead of focusing on themselves, people find the time to judge people they don’t even know. Even outside of Ramadan it is inappropriate to involve in the private life of people. Asking about whether they are Muslim, Christian or Jew, whether they pray or fast. Because these people carry an Arabic name, Muslims automatically assume that they are Muslims. Like the line in Romeo and Juliet says: ‘What’s in a name?’ It is strange to me that Muslims tend to forget that Arab and Muslim are NOT synonyms. If a non-Muslim would mix these two up, it would be understandable, but a Muslim? It also seemed that the ‘Ramadan police’ forgot about the models’ other identities.

The Swedish-Moroccan blogger and model Kenza Zouiten was sick of all the hate she got after posting pictures of food on her Facebook page. So she took the time to make it clear for once and for all.

I guess that Amin Ayouchi couldn’t handle the hunger no more? Instead of ‘bye’ I would have replied with ‘#’ to make him even crankier, LOL.
Well Ayub I guess you ‘tought’ wrong.

Gigi and Bella Hadid

These two supermodel sisters who not only have Palestinian, but also Dutch origins, and reside in the US also bore the brunt of comments, especially after their father posted a picture wishing people a blessed Ramadan. Having a Palestinian father doesn’t make these women Muslims, and even if they were, they chose to keep their religion private. The comments about the sisters were pretty similar. Saying ‘why do you let your daughters model half naked, why do they dress up like that, aren’t they Muslims?’ In my opinion a parent can ‘control’ his kid until a certain age and after that, they choose for themselves whether they want to believe or not and do certain things or not. Let us not forget that you cannot force religion and if you do that, it isn’t true belief.
