As Muslims, we don’t just pray all day long without enjoying the life surrounding us. At least, I don’t restrict myself to only prayers if the activity doesn’t step in the way or interfere with my faith. Everything just has to be done within boundaries and moderation. So to get to the point, I used to watch a lot of reality TV like nothing! I no longer watch the majority of these drama shows that can be entertaining because I became jaded. They lacked that pizazz because it was the same you saw with every housewife show on; the plastic surgery and other superficial stuff.

Then I came across two books which are Real Muslim Wives of Philly by Elle Muslimah and Khadijah’s Life in Motion by Jatasha Sharif. These books reminded me that as Muslims we are still humans and that we err. Islam is perfect and we’re not like they say.

These two novels also include a fair amount of dawah and depicted the different Islamic opinions correctly and properly. If you’re looking for an entertaining read with drama and cat fights, pick these two novels. I guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed.

Jazak’Allah khair for reading,
