When you’re a Muslim girl or woman who has made the choice to dress modestly it is not always as simple to find something to wear on special occasions. Whether it is your graduation day and you want to glam it up a little or you have a wedding coming up, choosing an outfit can be a little tricky if you want to look good for yourself yet keep it modest. When you look at your typical designers you notice that many dresses could be really hard to work with. Maybe the back is too revealing or it shows too much cleavage which is not something preferred by girls who wear the veil or girls who just like to cover up a little. We have to say that these days, with all these amazing fashion bloggers on social media it has become a lot easier for many Muslim women to find their personal style without having to give up on their modesty.

The Zalia Collection

But the Singapore-based brand Zalora has found another way to provide Muslim women with occasion wear. They came up with a clothing line that is designed especially for women who like to dress up modestly yet want to look glamourous for a special occasion. The line mainly contains long flowy dresses, but the design of the dresses are not similar at all to each other. There is a lot of variety. Whether you like colourful dresses, prints, or more casual dresses. They have it all.

To give you an idea of what the Zalia collection looks like, here are a few pieces from the line:

As you can see the websites do not only show pictures of models without the veil but it also gives you an idea of how the whole outfit would look on someone when wearing the veil. This might seem like a small detail but I know for sure that for women who wear the veil it definitely is a big deal.

So what do you think? Do you think it’s a nice gesture of this company to create something for Muslim women or at least women who want to dress more modestly?
